Chartwell Anne Hathaway Retirement Residence

Our Mother has been a resident at AH for 3 years now. She enjoys living there, sharing with the friends she has made, the various field trips/drives, the entertainment and the staff. My siblings and their partners share a meal with Mom once a month in the private dining room, which the staff set for us and cleanup after. They have a very nice visitors room on each floor as well. Our Mom had had a few incidents and we have found the staff very helpful and caring. I believe I may speak for all of my family members in saying Anne Hathaway has been as very good place for our Mom.

Chartwell made our mother’s transition from her home to the retirement residence very smooth. We were given ample information and we had every question answered with daily communication. We were especially impressed by the length Chartwell went to; even driving out of town to see our mother in the comfort of her home instead of having her drive to them.

My mom has lived at Anne Hathaway for 5 years. Generally the staff has been friendly and helpful. She really liked living at AH for the first 2 years because there were plenty of activities such as Java, euchre, crafts, happy hour and outings. She appreciated the seasonal decorating and the artistic touches, especially around special occasions like Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter etc. More recently my mother has noticed that there are fewer activities, less decorating and no craft sessions. As she ages and becomes more hard of hearing and less mobile in her late 90's, she has become less engaged, which is unfortunate. Yet she is bright and positive and has a lot of family connections, so she is doing ok. We would all like to see staff at the front entrance all the time, including weekends. We feel the meals could be more interesting and attractive. We have enjoyed small family dinners in the AH private dining room. We are grateful for the hairdresser who comes to AH weekly. In general, we feel that AH needs improvement with meals, crafts, and better staffing.

Absolutely the coziest and at the same time the elegance of a French chateau is how I wish to describe this place! We have visited for the past year or so and each time it confirms how wonderful and friendly the staff are a few to mention ie; the wonderful activity manager Kaitlyn, Lorie (the desk manager) Miss Debby and of course Chy the manager of the Home. The residents seem happy and comfortable and they love the food as the smell coming from the kitchen proves this to be right:)

On September 21st /24 I did a Fossil Presentation at Chartwell Anne Hathaway Retirement Residences. When I drove up to the parking lot at the building all I could think of was WOW what a beautiful place. The property has lots of flowers and Green Space and it looked amazing. As soon as I walked in the building I was greeted by friendly staff that helped me in every way possible, to help make my presentation setup as easy as possible. My father moved to Anne Hathaway Retirement Residence last June and it has been just splendid! Best decision ever! Honestly, it was a big move for dad as he was somewhat settled in a small town in southern Ontario but he knew he couldn't stay there. It was an easy, smooth process, signed a few papers and jumped in with both feet although he was hesitate to move all the way up to Stratford in the cold and snow! He gets fed wonderfully, plays some cards and just lives the good life. All family and friends exclaim on what a beautiful place it is and tell him how lucky he is to live there. My dad is just a great guy and I want him to live his golden years in style and that is at Anne Hathaway.
