Having never had a negative experience with any landlord or real estate agent before, I can confidently say that the worst experience we’ve ever had was with Buttonwood Property.

After assuring us that all essential maintenance work in the rental property had been completed and giving us the green light to move in, the ceiling collapsed just five days after we moved in—while our one-year-old baby was playing in the living room.

For the first 15 days, we couldn’t use any of the home’s electronic appliances. Cooking a meal was a luxury. On top of all this, their absurd responses, like “try plugging and unplugging it, maybe it will work,” were completely unacceptable. They even claimed that the collapsed ceiling was due to “wear and tear” caused by us—until the ceilings of the other floors also started leaking in the following weeks, at which point they finally decided to take partial responsibility.

When we wanted to terminate the lease and move out, despite never missing a single rent payment regardless of all the problems we faced, they not only kept our rent but also attempted to hold us accountable for the remaining months. I will never forget how they tried to accuse us over the phone, assuming we didn’t know our rights.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had. This company consists of people who fail to do their job properly, focusing solely on pleasing the property owner—yet even in that regard, they are clearly inadequate in the long run. I sincerely hope no one else has to go through this experience.

We had a fantastic experience with the Buttonwood Property management and Meld team! They responded to our request promptly and were able to come out the same day. The team quickly fixed a hot water leak in our bathroom, resolving the issue in no time.

While they were here, we also asked for help with a couple of unrelated issues. First, we needed assistance replacing a bulb in the entrance area, as we couldn’t figure out how to access it—they handled it right away! We also reported a one-time leak under the washer. Even though it hadn’t recurred, they thoroughly assessed the area, identified two potential issues, and fixed them the same day.

We’re truly grateful for the quick and effective help from the property management and the maintenance team. They were polite, skilled, and very helpful throughout the process. Thank you!
